Yucca plants indoors and outside have low water requirements and are even somewhat drought tolerant. Light fertilization can help establish the plant when growing yucca in containers, but is not needed for established plants. Soil may be poor quality, but should be heavy enough to hold the plant upright.Yucca is adapted to the desert, where temperatures can soar into the 90 or higher and down into the 30 at night. It is highly sensitive to water-logging. Water regularly in the spring and summer growing season, but make sure the plant has excellent drainage and dries between watering.
